With an endowment, you can maximize the impact of your charitable support and make a real difference, even with smaller endowments. Together with funds from other donors, your endowment to the ChildInvest Foundation generates higher investment returns which we can use to support social welfare projects for disadvantaged young people worldwide. With your endowment, you join others to help prevent social injustice.
What are the attributes of an endowment?
Endowments increase the core assets of the ChildInvest Foundation and help strengthen our support work on an ongoing basis. Our core assets are preserved in the long term and aren’t touched. We just draw on the investment income to fulfill the purpose of our foundation. This way, as our capital grows, we are able to support more projects over the long term.
What will the ChildInvest Foundation use my endowment for?
At the ChildInvest Foundation, the annual returns from the foundation’s core assets are generally channeled into SOS Children’s Villages programs worldwide and used where they are most urgently needed.
If you would like to specify a specific
purpose, you can allocate your endowment to a
sector fund. We will be happy to advise you personally on this matter.
What makes this support particularly flexible, and what are my benefits?
Endowments can be customized to meet your preferences and goals at any time. They are generally possible in any amount and are a good idea.
At the same time, the tax benefits of an endowment can also be greater than those of a donation, as they offer enhanced
tax deductibility according to German law: in the year of the donation and for the following nine years, up to EUR 1 million (up to EUR 2 million in the case of married couples) is deductible in Germany from taxable income as a special expense. In return, following your donation, we will provide you with a tax-deductible receipt.
How do I go about making an endowment?
Making an endowment is very simple: all you need to do is transfer your chosen amount to our bank account, specifying “Endowment” as the purpose of your payment.
You can make an endowment to the ChildInvest Foundation at any time by credit transfer to the following bank account:

- Purpose: “Endowment”, supplemented, if applicable, with your chosen sector fund
